As such, the buoyancy compensator can be utilized to make sure the diver is always where he or she wants to be. How this is achieved is relatively simple. Namely, the vest of the BCD is filled with air bags. A hose runs from the BCD to the oxygen tank. With the simple press of a button on the BCD, air can fill the bags. This will create more buoyancy which will allow the diver to return to the surface. Of course, allowing some of the air to escape will allow the diver to descend easier. The ability to control buoyancy adds a lot of fun to a diving adventure. If the diver constantly had to struggle to do ascend or descend then the dive would lose much of its appeal. Actually, it would not even be much of a dive. It would a series of struggling swims that were little more than an endurance test. In addition to allowing the process to be fun, a buoyancy compensator allows your diving experience to be safe. When you are in control of how you move in the water, you can maintain your safety levels. Also, if you need to take care of a less experienced diving buddy, you can do so without any additional problems. Of course, you will need to select the right buoyancy compensator.
